Though, over all I'd say, if you like the american shotgun on a model, use it.  

The Steiner Rule! If it's a just a single character they can be theoretically armed with whatever you like

(well, really that's just the Rule of Cool - Steiner was hardly alone among Eastern Front Germans in preferring and using a captured Russian PPSh-41).
