And here we are, after a long break.

First is the cavalry of Lee's Legion, active in Westchester until being brought South for the later stages of the war.



They were notably engaged at Edgar's Lane, ambushing the mounted Jaeger from earlier in this project.


At this time, they wore a distinctive uniform, generally shown as some kind of buff or cream with dark green facings, though different recreations show different color tones and combinations.  Later on, in the South, they wore dark green and black and were thus almost indistinguishable from Tarleton's British Legion - leading to disastrous confusion by Loyalist units on some occasion.


The figures are of course Perry Lee's Legion, but with some alterations to bring them in line with Troiani's works (extra plumes, added carbines, etc.)

And next are some officers interrogating a captured Continental. Very characterful figures. I have based them all individually so that they can be used as staff or others in a game or display.

Well, I've sure missed a lot not keeping regular in visiting this thread.  Lots of inspiring stuff to emulate.

They are, from L to R: Giles Allison of Tarleton's Quarter (the Scot); (Dr) David Brown, author of General de Brigade and General d'Armee rules (leaning on stick); "Eclaireur" author of the British Grenadier rules (reading); Alan Perry (shrugging); me (the fat German); and I think one of Alan's German contacts is the fusilier.  The point of the set was that the four of us were always pestering Alan for AWI Foot Guards and he was running out of excuses.  He did make them.....eventually!!!

What an interesting and amusing anecdote and backstory.  Nice to know that Mr. Allison has a place in my collection since his blog has been such an inspiration to me.  And of course now I can name the Hessian Herr Major von Oftgebrochen. Funny that you were pestering the Perrys for the Guards Brigade.  I had been planning to start this project years and years ago, but one of the things that kept me from beginning was that there were no Guards miniatures, and I didn't trust myself to make suitable conversions for them.  Eventually I got over that, and lo and behold, they were kind enough to produce some a year or so after I started.  The Guards will make an appearance on this blog in the near future.
