S.T.A.L.K.E.R.28: The Road to Pripyat
« on: September 04, 2020, 11:20:51 AM »

As I'm playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl for the first time, I couldn't help but start a tabletop project inspired by  the sheer atmosphere and incredibly imagery produced by the Zone. I'm  not sure where it's going to end up yet, but I have a pretty good idea  where it's going to go in the short term. I'll be running the #stalker28 project alongside my other hobby stuff, but it's a departure in theme that I'm looking forward to!

Following with interest. Considering the gritty and atmospheric look you’ve achieved with your fantasy project, I imagine that you’ll thrive with this. I really must play STALKER again. I know you’re only just starting it, but if ever you get to the third game, Call of Pripyat, there’s an overhaul called Misery that turns the gritty atmosphere up to 8000!

Zone Alpha rules could be worth a look for this project!

Looks great - real STALKER vibe.

Anvil do some great stuff, and should allow you a good range of similar looking, but all unique figures.

Thank you! Big praise as I am a huge fan of your Gardens of Hecate work, that blog set the bar very high indeed for what I would like to achieve in my own right.

Cheers mate! I've heard about Misery - definitely going to check it out. Sounds like, well, misery from what I've heard, haha.

Also looking at Zona Alfa. I'd like to play against/with other people but oddly this doesn't seem to have taken off in a big way yet?

My thoughts exactly re Anvil. Cheers - glad you like the start and hope you enjoy what's to come :)

Thanks! Yep, will post everything here too - I'm not massively fond of Instagram per se but it's all the rage nowadays.

They both look so great, are they both from anvil industries?

Anvil don't really offer figures, rather they offer a really large and varied range of mix and match parts.

This is two squads worth of bits, (£16 per squad) plus some bergans and pouches. and I will pick and make figures using these parts, plus others I have previously purchased. The variety and look of the figures you can create is really only limited by your imagination.

Knight-Captain Tyr - sorry for the slight hi-jacking of your thread

Everything so far is from Anvil Industries :) As PeteW said above, Anvil's main trade is in enormous quantities and types of bits. However, they're so large that they basically are complete figure ranges. Their Regiments range (which all my stuff is from) has an online building tool in the Anvil webshop that lets you pick and choose bits to make a complete, functional unit. I really recommend them!

Another Stalker in the meantime :)

Yeah, I've also had a look at what they have to offer, I might end up making a purchase too.
