Lovely brushwork Stuart. They are all little works of wonder, from a sculpting/conversion perspective as well as painting  8)

That Pike block is really coming together.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Pike batch 2 and both batches together.

With this batch i've upped the quota of men in little to no armour and added in a gentleman and French Captain. There's also a couple of figures wearing thick linen scarves which was a rudimentary defence against sword strokes.

batch 3 is underway :)

Damn, I was hoping the photos would be in the "quote" as well.  Anyway, technical question - in a "marching" pose such as shown in your piccies, would they put something on the end of the pike (a strip of rough fabric perhaps?) to help the owner to grip it in this position?  Being right on the butt end, I can't see how it would interfere with any other use.
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Not that I’m aware of. There are a few continental sources that depict fabric at about 1/3 to half the way up the pike as per this example.

Here’s the unit so far, together. Arrayed with heavies and nobles in the front ranks through to lighter at the rear.

:o that is one imposing looking block of pike.
Great work as always.  :D
Oh you guys added a Scottish list to your Tudor Rampart list yet? I am thinking if the osprey crusader kingdoms book works out well for that expansion of Lion Rampart, then maybe they can formalize your guys work some day.  :D
