Very nice. Highlighting with paints is really worth the effort.
The pics are indeed a bit dark - that adds to the "tanning" of your Natives, which doesn't seem that strong on the first pictures. From what I can tell, historical accuracy is fine. Personally, after seeing some reenactors lately, I would definetely go for extensive war painting. That looks just awesome. Here's what I mean:

These chaps also told me that Woodland Indians used a lot of red, brown, yellow and black dyes for their clothing, whereas green and blue only occasionally since it was limited to trading with the Europeans.

Apart from that, what about adding some brushwood and leaves to the bases? Dried parsley works very well, especially for 'autumn-themed' bases. Feel free to take a look at my versions (not the best of all photographers myself): LINK

Yes, war paint really help the war parties pop out on the table. Some of my favorite figures in my personal collection have striking red and black patterns.

Very nice. Your buckskin color is very well done. If you want to get fancy down the line you can try some beadwork on the bags, legging ties, etc. Honestly I rarely get that bold myself, even if Eric Roof makes it look like a piece of cake. There are some active F&I re-enactment groups scattered around the country. I am fortunate living in Western PA as we have several sites that attract them like the Bushy Run battlefield:

and Fort Ligonier

I have seen photos of F&I reenactors in the UK, Germany, the Czech Republic, and even Finland!
