Lovely stuff. Could you put an Oathmark human next to a Fireforge not Stark infantryman?

Your efforts put me to shame!

Love the fact that you make up backgrounds!
Thanks, though I have not got much painted.

Backgrounds are easier than painting ^__^.

Fireforge Foot Sergeant, Fireforge Northman, Fireforge Medieval Archer and Oathmark Human Infantry.

I do not have a standing (the Oathmark figure in the other photograph is advancing) Oathmark figure with the Oathmark head to hand. The Oathmark figure above has an Anvil head.

The Fireforge  Forgotten Realm figures are taller (the oath mark figure has a base), but not so much that you cannot use them together (well I am using them together).

The Southern Kingdoms have more Warrior units. Their armour is better made and they are better trained than the Northern Rank and File.

The main differentiation between the Southern Kingdoms is in helmet and shield design. Their armour is not as well suited to northern climes, and the troops tend to suffer because of it.

Work in progress Fireforge Templar Infantry (from one sprue, except one head which I got from another sprue). The Templar and Teutonic Infantry boxes contain two each of identical sprues and the respective Command Sprue.

I did not get any painting done this weekend - I started off building a rank of Northern Alliance Warriors, got distracted by some Barbarian Spearmen (using the Northern Alliance spears), then further distracted with the idea of a column versus line attack of Gnolls versus Elf Rangers so needed another twenty Gnoll Soldiers, then wondered about a Gnoll Spell Caster which meant I needed to gets some bits off the Cultist sprue - but while I was was looking at the sprue I thought, well I will need a Necromancer (I have a GW plastic one somewhere but hey) so put one of those together then needed a body guard of Cultists...

Of course no matter how brave your knights are, they need to have the support of some archers.

More work in progress Fireforge - built using the components of one Medieval Archer and one Foot Sergeant sprue. These sprues have the same bodies, just different weapons.

To differentiate between the Southern Kingdoms, the knights have different helmets, in this case Anvil Industries Sallet helmets.

More work in progress, and using the same bodies as above. To give a consistent weapons appearance, they use the Oathmark Elf Light Infantry arms.

What were the Skeletons like to assemble? I’m finding the Wargames Atlantic ones a bit fiddly. Lovely models. But fiddly.

They went together very easily. The key thing to be aware of is the shoulder joints are ball and socket rather the flat surface of all the other Oathmark/Frostgrave figures.

It is worth checking the left arms you use, the left socket on at least one of the bodies is positioned so that choice of arm is limited.

I used plenty of Tamiya thin liquid poly (the one I use on the Rubicon ABS kits) to ensure that the joint is solid. The rest of the figure (base and head) were added using Humbrol liquid poly.

I will see if I can get a photograph of the sockets.

The weapon arm does flex rather a lot, you do need to support it when painting only because it springs around.

First Northern Kingdom soldier with an alternative head.

Fitted with an Anvil Industries Brodie Head, this soldier is the first of one of the three Northern Kingdoms to be painted.
The pose looks a bit odd because there will be a shield fitted later.

Here is a comparison shot with an "out of the box" Oathmark soldier.

These two kingdoms have a common origin, with similar design armour and equipment.

Great project so far, really shows the versatility of all the plastic kits available.

Those Anvil Industries sallet helmets are new to me, definitely keeping that in mind for future projects.

Wonder if compatible with Wargames Atlantic

I've just used some spare Oathmark arms and a head on a spare WA body, went together no problem. The WA skellies are a wee bit chunkier though.

Excellent work in this thread, some nice kitbashes.
