Jungle Scenery and Terrain
« on: August 15, 2009, 06:08:53 AM »
Alright, I am looking for assistance on building or buying Jungle terrain for my Pygmy army. I have Grimm's page to look at, and some great hints from the WarFactory page. Anywhere else I should be looking?

If you haven't already, look in your local pet store at the aquarium decorations. The plants make excellent jungle foliage and some of the larger scenery items are bob on for scale.

I'm working on some terain at the moment (however I'm too hung over to do anything today except to suffer - the price for what was hopefully a great party yesterday... this morning). What I do is take mdf board as a base. These are going to be fairly large pieces, so I actually modelled a little terrain (like bumps and puddles of swamp on it. The main feature, however, are dried sticks from my recent garden clean-up. There are going to be huge knocked-down trees on the terrain with a mixture of bushes (from the local pet shop - you just gotta love the plastic underwater plants) but also clumb foilage and the like to have a weird mixture of natural and artificial materials. i always found those pieces looked more exciting to the eye than plain nature ore plain plastic. Maybe I'll post a picture or two when I have something to show.

Good call! I have a large number of pieces left over from the last time I changed out the foliage in my 86 gallon aquarium...

Hello mate; I bought my jungle terrain from this place: http://www.productsforwargamers.com/

I bought mdf bases and jungle plants (aquarium bits as others have said really) and prepared some lovely bases for my games. You can buy them ready made too apparently but I preferred to assemble them myself.
