Jungle scenery and stuff
« on: August 15, 2009, 07:09:36 AM »
Alright, I am looking for assistance on building or buying Jungle terrain for my Pygmy army. I have Grimm's page to look at, and some great hints from the WarFactory page. Anywhere else I should be looking?

I bought a big load of plastic palm trees on ebay some years ago and mounted them on mdf bases and CDs. Cheap, fast and effective. You can see them in the photo below. Adding some lichen and other stuff could give it a more "jungle feeling"

I've had a great deal of success with aquarium shops. A good retailer will have a wide range of plastic shrubbery designed for aquaria and vivaria but very usable elsewhere.

I have a lot of quite good kunai grass equivalent, palm trees and various other bits.

I am following Overlord and the recent thread from the chap doing his forest for FIW as inspiration.

I have a forest planned for FIW/Brazil using Woddland Scenic trees etc and will use the CD scheme though won some trees form Svenn who used a nice hexagonal ssystem for those which is a good idea for linking the forest.

For my Quar I have picked up some Pegasus bannana plants and will mix in some old timpo dead trees, foliage and some Palm trees I got from a pirate game to create an alien jungle effect.

Aquarium ploants work very well so will look at these too.
