Quar: Clash of Rhyfles rules questions
« on: March 31, 2024, 09:50:51 AM »

So having read the rules, I have some questions that other people might have answers to about Turn length, what is a Round, Activations and Actions.

Turn Length
Am I correct to understand that a Turn ends after the last Activation card is drawn and the deck reshuffled?

What is a Round?
On page 9 it states "The Activation deck is used to determine how many actions a commander has at his disposal during a round".
Am I correct to assume that a Turn comprises of the two players each having five rounds each (ten cards in the deck)?
Page 10 states the "The active commander may assign up to two actions to any rhyfler".
It does not state this is per Round, am I right that this is the case?
Does this mean a rhyfler can be assigned ten actions in a turn?

This probably explains the Time Limited Skirmish Turn table on page 37 where a 100 point patrol has two turns.

What happens if you have more actions than rhyflers?

Thanks in advance.

Just my 2 pence, not an expert. (My reading)

A Round - I would say "1" round is a run through of the activation deck.
(( I'm sure I read something about shuffling the deck and removing 2 cards before you start the turn, the drawing the top card for activation - but I'd just come off a night shift so may have dreamt it. If true, gives even more friction to the deck, as you don't know what those cards are. Might even try that out.))

I'd say you can activate a Riyfler as many times as you want (per card?)- the hero option. Doesn't support good team action, especially if you "guess" wrong.

If you have more activations than Rhyflers, I would say "tough luck", and you may be in deep trouble

Thanks.
I think you get the full set of cards each round, the active player does not know how many actions they have.
