I think you may have inspired me to try something similar.  I already have some small unit skirmish rules, I'll just need to add the rpg elements.

good to hear Dan. Look forward to any further posts on your project, and the direction you take.

just a little note by way of apology to those who took the time to respond to, and show an interest, in this thread.

Due to one thing and another, almost certainly wont be progressing with this theme any time soon.

Would have loved to, but bitten off more than I can chew - which seems a suitable adios to Tabako Wrech. For now anyway.

Some other rules folks following in your footsteps might want to glance at.....

- Empire of the Dead
- Strange Aeons

Pretty campaign heavy skirmish games where you might be able to nick a few campaign ideas and effects.  I especially like Strange Aeons psychology rules in the form of Black Marks and Insanity.

That said, I hope you can come back to it someday soon.  Good luck.

thanks @ Easy E and mweaver.

Ok (sorry if my post above sounded overly dramatic in any way!), but having to be a bit more sensible in terms of what constitutes a realistic propect gaming-wise, both in terms of 'stuff' and 'space' and the availability of that in time to come and, perhaps more to the point, social circumstances and connection.

This would have been a grand project but also something of a white elephant given the above considerations. And I can afford that, in every sense, rather less than some involved in this hobby, I suspect.  :'(     :D

Maybe one fine day I'll come back to it.

Perhaps you bit off more than you can chew, but this doesn't mean you can't just cut back on your immediate goals and still have a small "taste" of what you were hoping to achieve, instead of the massive work of preparing an entire "meal".  I often create small campaigns just to test the waters and see if I like the result.

yes, Dan55, true, but I think it was an unrealistic prospect (given what I say about personal circumstances) in the foreseeable future, and I was overloading myself with material anyway ...

having said that, I intend to keep the Dixon wild west figures, as I like them so much, so never say never ...  :)
