Two eunuchs skeletons

Come on boys, fight! You've nothing to loose but...
well.. you've got nothing to loose.

Wonderful stuff, all of it, but consider the Sphynx
(Dark Blue with light blue edged highlights) a nicked idea.

shame about the TK range too - some of their most striking miniatures I thought.

Lovely work. Have you seen Fenryll's figures? There's a few figures in their range that would fit in nicely with the theme:

What an inspirational collection! I'm currently working on some Egyptians and Arabs for a Conan-type setting, so loving the ideas here.

I really hope Dark Fable stuff becomes available again: by the time I pulled the trigger on the project, they were no longer for sale.

Wow! Thanks everyone! Your comments are much appreciated!

Do you also have more Wargods of Aegyptus figures to paint?

Not a lot unfortunately. I think I have 2-3 unpainted minis from that range + a few accessories. I really want to order more of them but money is a bit tight and there are so many minis I'd like to purchase from various webstores.

You are welcome to "steal" the colour scheme. :)
I also have a criosphinx (ram headed sphinx) painted in a similar scheme but green instead of blue (pay no attention to the unpainted minis plz):

Thanks, I didn't know that range. I'll have to take a close look at it later!

All I know is that the guy behind Dark Fable said last year he was fighting against cancer. I can only suppose this is the reason his webstore is currently closed (I check everyday or so). I truly hope he gets better and I keep him in my thoughts. :(

Oh...
I am very saddened by this.
I didn't know Mike personally but I always loved the minis he was selling in his webstore and he was always super nice in the few messages we exchanged. I was really looking forward to his next KS for more egyptian minis and I hoped he would get better. Cancer is a bitch...
May he rest in peace.

I have a lot of those same figures in unpainted state and love what you have done with them. I'm especially enamoured with your brushwork on that vampire.

Also a fan of the look of clear bases, which I've used on one of my projects too. I would use it more often if it wasn't such a pain to drill through them.

By the way, this entire thread reminds me of a few dozen semi-clad Egyptian ladies in my cupboard who insist to be painted soonest...  ::)

Dark Fable - I could offer mine (already based and primered) if somebody needs them desperately (ladies of course - no warriors). This would also help to reduce the lead pile...  ;)
PM me if interested!

I dare say Michi is obviously enabling my addiction...

Here a few step-by-step pictures of a room for an egyptian dungeon. For those who wonder, the dungeon tiles are from Lunesdargent Workshop.

Step one: the tiles are 3D-printed by a dear friend of mine who owns a printer. The tiles are tied together by little connectors (which we can't see on the pictures).

Step two: I spray primed the room in pale yellow with a cheap rattle-can. Respiratory protection mask mandatory.

Step three: I covered the whole room with a mixture of brown paint and acrylic medium, making sure to get paint into the grooves and the carved hieroglyphs.

Step four: drybrush the whole thing with beige paint.

Step five: grab a fine brush, some inks and carefully paint the scarab on the floor.

And that's it basically. Maybe I'll add some weathering later but that's optional. The room is ready for a game of dungeon crawling and tomb robbery.

That looks great!
Had a look at your blog some fantastically painted figures and beautiful scenics.
If you do the Facebook I am in a small page called the Annals of Aegyptus minor. The painting and modelling is not to your level. But you may find something of interest.

The Dark Fable range is being transferred to Dragon Bait Miniatures, which is run by a close friend of Mike.

Hi Folks,
Today is a somber day for me as I have completed the last few details in acquiring my late friend Mikes company, Dark Fable Miniatures. I can not thank Mikes gracious sister Carla enough  for the ease in which she allowed me to continue my close friends miniature legacy. Mike loved what he did and his passion will be truly missed.
My goal is to establish a Dark Fable Miniatures Archive on Dragon Bait Miniatures site (I have no admin access to the old site). Slowly as I physically obtain the lines, I will release them in the totally chaotic manner you've grown to comfortably expect from Dragon Bait. I expect the transition to take a year but individual packs will be available as soon as I receive them.
For those unfamiliar with Dark Fable Miniatures. https://www.darkfableminiatures.com
Any questions of course just fire away.
Joe

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

@SwiftNick: Sadly I am not on Facebook and I don't plan on creating an account there but if I change my mind, I'll definitely take a look at that FB page.

@Sir Barnaby Hammond-Rye: Thanks A LOT for this information. The decease of Dr Mike Burn is a tragic loss, but at least I'm glad to know that someone plans to maintain the DFM range.
