help with scale Garrison Miniatures
« on: October 25, 2020, 01:05:01 AM »
Gentlemen
as title says i would be interested in reading  your opinion about compability , in case some of you still own some 25/28mm Garrison miniatures..the seller list them as 28mm ..which, if true, could be OK for me..i would like to mix them with my FPW from Foundry and with my Italian Indipendence Wars  from Mirliton and, in case, also with Old Glory colonials..so i'm talking about dated ranges...do you think they could mix?
many thanks

"Garrison", now there's a name from the past.  I think I last owned some Garrison ancients back in the mid 1970's . I can still recall the tree-trunk spears!  Given that Garrison date back to when figures were "25mm" I doubt that they would match todays 28mm even if Garrison were eat the "large end" when compared to Minifigs and Hinchliffe.  That said I think Foundry's FPW range was one of their earlier releases  ( after ECW and Indian Mutiny?), so they too would be more 25mm-ish than 28.

Probably worth the risk size-wise albeit I think the level of detail on the Foundry figures will be much better. I recall being "wowed" by Foundry when they were 1st released compared to Companies such as Garrison.

Definitely 25mm, though very nice figures, well their ancient ones were.
Compared with 'skinny' Mini-Figs & 'lanky' Hinchcliffe, they were my favourites.

There does seem to be a trend of mis-labelling items for sale (e-bay etc). If you know
the manufacturer you can avoid buying figures that will not fit in with those you already have.
I have seen even very early Mini-Figs (smaller even than their later stuff) advertised as 28mm.
