I am looking for a seated woman and a duck!
« on: October 25, 2020, 08:08:47 AM »
Actually I am.  I would prefer in metal.  The woman needs to be seated.  The woman can be clothed but needs to be in a dress.  I am currently looking at Hasslefrees Isabelle (HFX006) however I do not know if the rock is attached.  If anyone has this model please let me know if it is two parts. I also looked at Gen (HFX004) but I do not like her hair and that will take a bit of sculpting.  The harem girl has a pillow so she does not work.

I would prefer metal models but plastics or resin can work.

The duck also needs to be seated.

The rock and woman are a single casting.

I bought that figure for a Lead Painter's League entry, but ended up not using it. One of the reasons was that I couldn't be bothered/did not have time to separate her from the rock she was sitting on. I didn't want her on the rock. It was a bit too big and didn't quite fit the scene.

The process would not have been hassle-free, unfortunately. :)

I think you could probably make a seated duck from a standing one just by cutting its legs off. They don't seem to change their body position much when they sit down. Don't know if anyone actually makes such a thing, though, and don't tell the RSPCA I suggested cutting ducks' legs off either, please.

For the lady, is there a particular historical era you prefer for her clothing?

Eureka Miniatures has sets of 18th Century women seated (in a social setting).

Warlord has a reclining Roman matron:

A couple of Pulp Figures 'cringing captives' are reclining (although they are in distress, so probably not the relaxed look you seem to be going for)

Tin Man Miniatures has a couple of ladies intended as riders, who might fit the bill for you.  Scroll down to the 'Wild Ride Maiden' or click on to the 'Adult Catalogue' to see a few more options.

Ducks can be had from a few sources, including Pegasus Hobbies farm animals (these are plastic):

Thanks for the reply all.
Plynkes - Thanks for the information on Isabella.  Looking at the image it looked like a single casting.  I was just looking to save effort.  I also thought about that with the duck.

Will Bailie - Thanks for the links.  Giving two of them a serious look.

Storm Wolf - Possibly.

Think the Col Bills Depot Batallion range has some seated 17th C type ladies?

I need to apologise, I have provided incorrect information.  The Pegasus Hobbies set does NOT include any ducks.  It has chickens, roosters, and turkeys but no ducks.  Other companies are lacking in ducks as well, although if you can accept other domesticated waterfowl, Warlord include geese in their farm animal set:
https://store.warlordgames.com/products/farm-animals-small?_pos=7&_sid=5bb2cb458&_ss=r
Or Warbases:  https://warbases.co.uk/product/geese/

Or you could check with the model railroad shops for what they have on offer for farm animals.

Check Irregular Miniatures. They used to do ducks, but I haven't used their site in a while. If they don't I have one I can send you (although it's standing)

There was a duck in the latest Mantic Terrain crate. https://www.manticgames.com/games/terrain-crate/modern-terrain-crate/terraincrate-crystal-peaks-camp/

If you have no use for the camping gear, it will be a very expensive duck though.

Irregular do an old lady seated on a stool, and farm animals including ducks.
