Strange Aeons child board
« on: August 20, 2009, 12:23:34 PM »
Would a child board for Strange Aeons be a good idea? I think it would be good to collect all the rules queries, etc in one place. What do other people think?

No, not really... There aren't such child boards for other, more popular games either. The number of new SA topics will probably decrease over time so any new board would become too quiet to justify its existence as a discussion place. For rules reference, I prefer a compiled Q&A file to browsing through dozens of discussion threads.

Keep them here, I say. New games are among things that keep this main board thriving.

There aren't child boards for other games, but Triumph and Tragedy, another game produced by LAFers, does have its own board. Personally I have no opinion on the matter either way, I'm just pointing out that such a move wouldn't be entirely without precedent.

I think once you start on that path, you end up with everyone asking for their own board. I agree with Dolmot in that an FAQ is better than lots of postings. And I think that is the company's responsibility and not the LAF.

For now, this is convenient as the bulk of the current player base are users of this site, but we certainly don't want to ever be perceived as taking advantage of Lead Adventure by promoting and supporting our own game here.  Should we reach the point of having enough activity/players to justify it, we'll most likely launch our own forum at the official Strange Aeons site.

To clear it up. Uncle Mike didn't ask me to create a child board. That it's only my idea and decision. To be honest, I've missed to read this thread till today..  I just like to support things that I like ;)

so, no worries, guys, we won't have hunderts of child boards with hunderts of games, I don't have enough time to play them :)

Great idea!  Glad it happened.  I just read the rulebook over the weekend and I'm really impressed with it.

Glad this board came to be.  I've been playing this game a lot recently and we're having a lot of fun with it.

It was great to meet the guys at Gencon.

Glad to hear it Nick.  Ryan said you had a great time in his run through.  I wish we had more time and space, but sadly, with Malifaux being such a hit, there just wasn't room for us to show it off all that much.
