[Kickstarter] Agema Miniatures Etruscans (28mm)
« on: November 12, 2020, 09:06:04 PM »
Looks like Agema are making some Etruscans, I think they look pretty nice!

Looks like they're offering up a pretty good range of warrior classes, and a mix of new metal castings and metal heads and aspis to be added to their existing plastic Romans/Carthaginians to convert them into Etruscans.

These look great....the variations made possible with the extra heads is a winner for me let alone a new metal range !....I shall be pledging as soon as funds become available

Gregg, the owner of Agema, has been working hard to bring this project together.

Hopefully it will be a succes. I am really looking forward to the "unofficial" Mortal Gods cards for the mini's.  :)

Plus one to that.
Though I might start at the Skirmish level.

I'm going for this and hope it is a success. What's not to like about Etruscans and early Romans, especially the concept of Romans fielding hoplites  :-*

If you are into Mortal Gods and haven't already seen it, I recommend this article which gives an idea of some of the cards to expect (and what you should be aiming to collect) when Footsore get round to an Etruscan release.

https://sculptingpaintingandgaming.com/2019/09/mortal-gods-the-etruscans-part-2-playing-etruscans-and-early-republican-romans-in-mortal-gods/

I did a few Victrix conversions for a small Etruscan Mortal Gods warband, which worked out well using the normal Greek cards. I'll be doing some more figures for this while I wait for new toys under this Kickstarter (I need more hoplites, some skirmishers with scutum and an augery).

In the meantime, here are some sneak previews of my Etruscan conversions.

Some very nice conversion and painting Bullshot!

I am also a Mortal Gods fan.

I do wonder if Footsore will ever do their own range of Etruscans. Agema Miniatures uses the same sculptor, Footsore did do the master casts for this kickstarter and I assume that "unofficial" Mortal Gods cards are the cards that are mentioned in the blog by Phatis.

In one of the Footsore streams Mark talked about the Mortal Gods cards and how work intensive they are.

The "unoffical" Etruscan cards will be digital only. So we will need to make our own cards.

What I understood from the Footsore streams is that we will see in the near future Theban, mercenary, extra gifs cards and cards for various Greek cavalry.

I produced my own set of cards for my Etruscan warband, using standard Greek stats, although I will be revisiting these to produced interim cards (with my opponent's permission) for lower class warriors. For the time being, I'll use Seer stats for Augeries. The only really awkward one I'll have to do without for the time being is Lictors.

Getting back on topic, I see the Kickstarter has gone past the £5,000 mark. Hopefully there will be enough take-up to get to the £7,000 target.

i'm backing too, the starter set is very complete, altthoug some other packs are being added, ( the axemen, some more triarri, those kneeled on the ground with the thrusting spears ready - are reaally cool looking!- and some plastic bundle, ( i found quite difficult finding unarmoured, lesser classes warriors, and Agema has done it!

2nd army on the way for my CLash of Spears Games.  yummyyy

Kickstarter is funded. The CoS list looks interesting.

There is even a very nice Lembos and crew available.

Interesting.  I have been doing a lot of research on these guys over the year.

I hope it succeeds and I am always open for more Etruscan models!

I will also be backing the project. I saw the pic Gregg posted yesterday with the painted up general riding in a Chariot. A cool looking mini.
