Conan figure recommendation.
« on: January 06, 2021, 11:34:10 AM »
I'm looking for a Conan figure, metal or plastic, which would fir in with his buccaneering/piratical phase, any suggestions?  I've had a quick look at the Reaper site under 'Pirates' and was overwhelmed with suggestions - perhaps you chaps could narrow down the field a bit?

The old Grenadier Fantasy Warriors Barbarians were basically all Conan stand ins. The were also designed by the great Marc Copplestoneand look similar to the Frostgrave barbarian linked by Chris.
The range was sold by em4 in th UK and Mirliton in Italy the last time I checked.

Furthermore there is the Conan game by Monolith and the models sometimes appear on ebay. The sculpts range from okay...ish to awesome, but the material is not very good.

If you can find him Drac Mac Syro from Rackham‘s Confrontation line is brilliant! The model for strange reasons pops up quite often in ahops or on ebay for reasonable prices.

Hasslefree was already mentioned, but Bronze Age Miniatures also have awesome barbarians.

Bears Head does a rather nice one that may work.

I'm a long-time fan of Reaper Models.  Heres a few I found that could work.  Maybe not so much a pirate look, but they conjure up that Conan image.

There's a "pirate phase" Conan in the upcoming expansion for Monolith's Conan game:

It might be a bit expensive if you only want the one figure though.

I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to reply to my request and you have given me much food for thought.  I didn't realise that there were so many Conan and not Conan figures out there, also you've put me onto some miniature sites that I didn't know existed.

All the best,

Richard.
