U.S. Reguler force's of the war of 1812 question
« on: August 22, 2009, 07:23:56 AM »
Hello! i am planning on doing some Naps skirmishing set in North America. Manly the war of 1812. I was wondering if any one had any ideas of were I could find info on the US regular army forces of the war?
I find tons of stuff on the militia, and US Marines. Almost nothing on the regular infantry, cav or art. Not even any good photos of pics of uniforms or any info on whether there was even a standard training manual. Were they still fallowing Prussian style military drills laid down by von Steuben?
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
