Midwar Monster Boarhound
« on: August 22, 2009, 11:37:58 AM »
Hi again,

the "Midwar Monster" book encouraged me to buy again some FoW minis. IMO the best book of Battlefront so far! I know that the WW II purist are not that happy about it, but there are people out there (LIKE ME) that just love all the weird experimental stuff of WW II.
But I am biased here, see: http://www.agisn.de/html/gear_krieg.html
 ;)
So here is my 1st MM vehicle the Boarhound:
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Beautiful work, Agis.

I like the experimental kit, too. My objection to it with FOW is that they've neglected several vehicles that actually -did- see service, and as I tend to play armies that don't have access to things like Tigers and Panthers...;)

Anyway, beautiful work, as always with your paint jobs. This is one of my favorite new BF models, too. I can dislike the company and still like the eye candy, right? 8)

-Doc

Does no other 15mm company produce the models you need?
There are so many around...

Wow, another spectacular piece of paintsmanship (I know, not a word, but it should be!) from your brush Agis, thanks for sharing with us. I know I just started WWWII in 28mm, but between Gear Krieg and these new Midwar Monsters 15mm is becoming more and more tempting the more I'm seeing........
We haul ours to kick theirs.

I'm speaking of actual rules and stats to use them with FOW. Most players of FOW, while strangely not bothered by the lack of valid historical research in many cases, are very much sticklers for using units that appear in official books, lists, downloads, etc. If I want to represent Italian forces fighting the Germans outside Rome in 1943, I'm out of luck.... Same thing if I want to run, say, the Italian Somuas or R35s, or if I want to run German troops equipped with French equipment in 1944 (and I'm not speaking of the 21st Panzer Division here)...

I am still not getting it. Why not use any other generic Italian list for your above mentioned example? Are your gaming buddies really sticking ONLY the official FoW approved stuff? :o
Maybe you need other opponents and not additional rules!  ;) ;) ;)

Cool stuff. I was actually expecting something more, well... animal. Quick to jump the gun I am :).

Screw the hard-noses, if they don't want to be fun and deviate from the beaten trail then find someone else. T'is what I'd do.
