Thanks, chaps, much appreciated.
 :)

Looking good,I particularly like the blue scheme for the power weapons  8)

Cheers, mate.
That blue has provided a nice spot colour to break down the monochrome look, which is helpful.
 :)

Excellent! Not easy to track down the heavy weapons dudes

I know what you mean!
Romark and zemjw have been particularly helpful in that regard.
Thanks again, chaps!
 :D

I love the smell of plasma and melta early in the morning!!!!!

Lovely stuff

Glen

 lol
I do hope not!
Cheers, Glen.
 :)

Old Skool Space Sharks Marine Chapter: A few more 'rescued' Marines (05/08)
« Reply #122 on: August 05, 2021, 01:30:35 PM »
A few more 'rescue jobs' to enable me to add a few more troops with a bit of variety to the force...

L-R:
Multi Melta Marine- Mostly hiding damage to his shooter and enlarging the face plate of the helmet a little as both were a bit knocked about.
Bolter Marine- Head swap from the chainsword fella as I have multiples of both of these. The addition of a crude gorget hides the join.
MK II Armour- Addition of a plastic chainsword to replace his missing sword.
Chainsword Marine- Head swap with a later edition helm and green stuff work to hide the join, along with a couple of simple kneepads.

I also added quite a few additional armour plates on a few others that I have multiples of so that each is slightly different, but no real point in taking pictures of those.

The caption for that picture was:
Quote
A force of Ultramarines advances with Imperial Hover Tanks.  The vehicle on the left is converted from a toy tank model.  The vehicle on the right utilizes a Land Raider kit, plasticard, parts from the spares box, and the added talent of Dave Andrews.

The toy tank was the GI Joe Armadillo toy (not a model).  As for the other, even knowing that it is built from a Land Raider kit, I'm having a hard time seeing how.

You can definitely see parts of the land raider kit in there but the vast majority looks scratch built

I have the GI Joe wotsit on the left, which I intend to use with these fellas but, as for the vehicle on the right...I have no idea.
My guess is that the shape of the vehicle was made up from plasticard (as stated in the article) with various plastic bits attached to it.

As for other vehicles for the Sharks, a lovely gentleman has sent me an original Predator (complete with metal turret weapons, etc...!) and a Rhino, so they will be added to the pool of available hardware.
 :)

I shall probably have to paint one of those very soon.

In the meantime, to speed the painting of the infantry, I have managed to throw paint at a bunch of backpacks whilst doing something else......

Och, you’re quite lovely too, you know!  :D ;D I have every confidence vehicles are going to look great.

This whole project is just glorious- I love the little mods to duplicates you’ve been doing too!

Thank you!

I must admit that the temptation to paint one of those vehicles next is very strong but I really SHOULD paint at least a few more infantry first in order to stay on track....a handful, at least.

OK, as some will be aware, I have been seeking out damaged Marines to repair and add to the Company.
I have done this with quite e few now but the latest that I have received is certainly looking like more of a challenge....

As you can see, the fella on the right is fairly straightrorward but the chap on the left will require a little more work, but it WILL be done!

The figure on the left shall be a little more difficult than some but it is salvageable, I reckon.

I think it is Brother Levers from my 'wants list' here:
