Very nice pikeman.  I do like the Venexia range although they are too big to fit with my lads.  You may know that the whole range will be available once more from Lancashire Games later this year.

Most of my flags are from the Not by Appointment blog with some from Kronoskaf.  I use a very thin application of PVA to the inside surface of the flag and then wrap it round the pole and shape it.  So far only one has bled through to the colours on the other side.

Very nice. Had a quick look through your blog and think I'm going to enjoy the back posts. I've been looking a lot at LoA, GNW and 9YW lately with an eye to starting a project in one (or all) of them in the near future!

Thanks, do have a poke about.  I should have more LOA posts up shortly.  I think it's a great period to game.  It's always great to hear from other people playing it so do  let us know when you get started.

More LOA French cavalry completed and photographed on my blog.  If you’d like to see them click the link.  The cavalry are squadrons from the Colonel General’s regiment and the Orleans regiment.  There are also pics of Fimacon’s Dragoons mounted and on foot.

I’ve also waffled on about what’s available in 15mm for dragoons in stocking caps. It might be of use to others doing the LOA in 15mm.

The French cavalry are lovely, cracking job on them. Interesting read about the dragoons as well, good advice. :)

Thanks Jambo.  I'm going to try Fighting 15s Dragoons on Irregular horses for my next unit.

My second unit of French dragoons is now complete.  After some experimentation I favour Gladiator figures on Irregular Miniatures horses for this troop type. As usual I’ve done the unit mounted and on foot.

The red and yellow uniform seems to have been worn by 3 different French Dragoon units.  I think it is quite striking.

I’ve also painted up a single unit of irregular Hussars from Essex.  They should be fun on the table top.

If it is of interest here is the link to my blog.

Thank you both lads.  I should have another couple of units done soon.

Impressive, the sculpts are nice and your painting style has brought out every feature.

Thanks fellows.

The sculpts above are ex Black Hat, now Fighting 15s and sold under the Gladiator label.  Unpainted the heads look too big and the arms too short.  The same dollies were used for their Sikh War range.  The League of Augsburg clothing style masks these flaws and on the plus side the figures have a lot of detail.  Once painted I think they come up nicely.

One of the pleasing things about this project is that Essex, Irregular and Gladiator figures work together nicely enough.
