Manchu-

Those bases look good for the scale of the models you have.

For me personally, I think I would want to multi-base smaller scale tanks and infantry.  So a Heavy Cavalry element would be 3 tanks or so instead of one.  Makes it look more like an army supporting a mech to me.  However, I do not think the CAV rules are NOT scaled to support that approach, so why would the models?

On the down side, I think my approach would look more like Epic though.  The mechs would be huge compared to the tanks and such.  That may not to be everyone's taste and I can appreciate a different approach to it.

I can not wait to see them get painted.  This thread has really helped me visualize the CAV models.
 Great progress so far.

That would be really awesome, E. If I were to go that route of multi-basing, I’d use 6mm at the largest. Not sure which models I’d use to convey the relatively gigantic mechs, however, as so many models are sort of scale-locked by things like cockpits. While the main reason I settled on 10mm was simply the generous affordability/quality ratio of of CAV models, I also just really love that 10mm marries up so beautifully to Horizon Wars in terms of hitting that sweet spot between strategic and tactical gaming. The 1:1 scale of model representation (other than with infantry) really helps me that the action is more exciting, when it comes to narrative-focused miniatures gaming.

Here is a WIP shot of the Blue Team mechs. Very simple, very blue. I am unsure if I want to use a secondary/trim color but if Idid it would probably be light gray. If I only had mechs to paint (to the tune of 5-7 on each side) I might just go for it but each team also has conventional forces to paint.

I have a pdf of Horizon Wars, which I'm not sure where it came from. I'm sure it's an official version, as the pages don't look scanned in, so I probably bought it that way. If it's OOP in print form, it might be available in pdf form?

I’ve just received my copy of Horizon Wars from Caliver. It’s still listed at £15.
