15mm Mandalorian
« on: December 08, 2020, 05:54:37 PM »
I'm working on a frontier town that feels a little like Tatooine, but I also want to use it for Pulp Alley.  Many of the miniatures were painted by Callimero.  I built the terrain.  The Mandalorian is from Highlander Studios with the jet pack top sanded off.

Has anyone ever proposed a 15mm Future Wars Board?

With all the 15mm-specific goodness being produced and marvelously used (like the above) these days, it just seems like it would be a natural development to create a 15mm-specific forum here.

Any thoughts?

Oh, this looks so awesome  :-*. I'm as well doing a sort of "mandalorian project" but set in the historical Cairo of the 17th century with all the characters from the series adjusted to the historical context.

That sounds like a cool idea.  My 15mm Star Wars project started off as a futuristic samurai project.  Half way through however, I went changed the paint schemes to Star Wars.

Futuristic samurai?  As in Ashigaru Corporate figures from Alternative Armies?  Or did you have other figures in mind back then?

They might still be of use as a local splinter faction or a traveling mercenary group or Outer Rim gang, like the Kanjiklub in Force Awakens:

As for me, I couldn’t pass up the Xin Trade Fleet figures.  They also remind me of the B5 Dilgars, and the Ishida Clan in the tv series Dark Matter:

It was sort of yojimbo/fistful of dollars.  After I painted them I realized I wanted more Star Wars than anything else.

I can definitely understand that.  So what did you do with the figures from that original project?
