I am currently working on a few projects in parallel to keep it fresh. One is a scratch-build and painting project: an attic scene featuring a ghost and a portrait of the deceased.

The ghost is magnetised, so that I can exchange him for a more romantic depiction of the ghostly presence, instead of the current horror one.

Portrait is hand-painted on a piece of thin styrene and the chest of drawers build with styrene, foam board and tooth picks.

The painting so far was a challenge, as I want the ghost to glow and cast light on the surroundings. I got some good advise in a Facebook group how to make the illusion work, and basically I have to add more blue light while making the transitions to the violet surroundings more subtle.

Any C&C as always very welcome.

Well done! That is a nice little scene you have created.

I love it. Grteat to see the painting as a ghostly colour too.

I really like the ghost and the portrait. I wonder if painting the book a deep dull red wouldn't offset the ghost and give just a bit of contrast.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

Thank you. As the ghost is removeable, I might also try some other arrangements.

Thanks. Yes, I wanted to make sure the connection is obvious.

That is a good idea. I was also wondering, if I should add some red / orange glowing eyes to the ghost.

I wouldn't change anything, but I read the room as dark with just a hint of moonlight coming through a window somewhere out of frame. The ghost feels more ethereal because it is blending into the scene and not glowing. It is a shade, just barely visible.
