« on: December 14, 2020, 07:24:59 PM »
I have done a quick blog post on getting the kit needed for small space wargaming in a single box.

That’s a good post; plenty to think about when I have the leisure to do that again.  I thought that I had written up something along the same lines for my blog, but it turns out to have been posted on the Reaper Miniatures forums:

Mine’s packed in a 12-liter RUB, so at ~17 by 11 by 6 inches, only a little taller than your box.

Which also means, by the way, that yours would fit under the airline seats if needed for an away mission.

(I ought to revise it slightly and use it for a blog post ... )

Love the idea. But how does it hold up to actual travel?  ???

thanks all.

This box is quite heavy withe those two rulebooks and I think a plastic Really Useful Box would make travel easier.

Also for travel, I would add some light packing material for travel and move everything into their own thin boxes with lids to prevent sliding around within the case, so for example, I would put the figures in a thinner card box, possibly with wooden (BBQ skewers or balsa wood) divides within the box, so that bases were more static or use magnetic paper etc, perhaps with a film of bubble wrap on top. The trees could quite easily be put into a smaller self contained box without any chance of harm coming to them.

Over time, I think you naturally come across the sort of small boxes that will help ...... Christmas coming up should provide some boxes that are worth saving.
