Battle of Britain in 1/72
« on: April 18, 2020, 02:43:54 AM »
I've been working on 1/72 planes for the Warlord Games Blood Red Skies rules set.  I have pics up of Spitfires (I have 6 done):

and 109s (I have 6 done):

And some posts on the blog about getting bases made to work with the mechanics of Blood Red Skies:

I wasn't sure I could do a game on tabletop in 1/72 but it works.  Sadly the shutdown put the gaming out of business right after our first playtest, but we got two games in.  Looking forward to getting back to it.

Great idea, they look superb. I had the same idea of doing Wings of Glory WWI in 1/72. Unfortunately the kits I bought are still in their boxes!

Well done!   :-*

Ha! Ha! I can top that one yer Lordship...
we bought about fifty WW1 aircraft kits about twenty year back, four got built by my kids and the rest got sold on, sortie aborted.

:'(

We did finally get airborne, with ready painted 1:72 Corgi diecast models, back when you could pick 'em up for less than a tenner at a toy fair!

:)

Made me realize I haven't photographed my Hurricanes.  I have only 3 of them done so far.  I have 3 more in boxes I should finish.  These are from 303 Squadron:

We only had a couple of games before the pandemic shut me down.  We were playing on an 8x6 and it seemed fine.

I'm not sure how it will work with bombers.  I need to get one of those done....

it looks great, I played in a participation game for BOB, they used bombers and fighters and we played on a parquet floor with TV aerials to adjust height it was fun.

cheers
