Source for oars
« on: March 15, 2021, 04:25:13 PM »
Does anyone know of a cost effective source for oars that would be suitable for 28mm?

I知 not looking to dredge eBay for playmobil oars, or 1/72 trireme models...and equally i知 not thinking about making my own....rather I知 looking for a reliable source for a large number of oars...?

Wooden...plastic...I知 not fussed, just want something that will take a bit of a battering on the table top.

Not sure about brass etched oars...guessing they are paper thin, and will bend under the minimal pressure.

Any suggestions?

Old Glory make oars in their Dragon Wars section of the "Old Glory Shipyard". You could ask about a special order maybe?

Preiser KG makes a military raft with 5 oars and 4 life jackets which retails for $5 US. It is is HO scale though. Also, Fenris games makes a resin row boat that comes with laser cut oars; perhaps send them an email and see if they will cut up a bunch for you.

There are some that I've seen which are pretty much oar shaped from the beginning
