Marco..as you are, like me, a fan of French colonial history..in that case AEF and AOF ..i would like to point you some new 3D minis that are available from a French manufacture..(but i think they also have a US distributor) ..In their vast WW2 catalogue they list some apparently nice Méharistes camel troopers  which, except for the rifles, which is not so distinguishable at that scale, could be absolutly  perfect even for combats in Mauritanie,  Niger, AOF, Soudan borders and the conquest of Sahara from 1890. Méharistes are, in my opinion, unavoidable if your have read Douglas Porch..

Aside that, with your Tirailleurs Sénégalais you can recontruct that iconic scene in the moovie "Fort Saganne" in which the Méharistes long range travelling column lead by Gerard Dépardieu is halted at gun point by a patrol of tirailleurs sénégalais lead by the histerical capitaine shouting something like "Messieurs ne bougez pas..vous etes maintenant en Afrique Occidentale Francaise!!!"  lol lol lol ...a real episode that i found on my rare antiquarian books about the French colonies.. :o

They are  sold both in 28mm and in 1/72 (which is your favourite scale) plus , in case you have a printer or a willing friend, in stl file which is far more cheaper.

i'm in the process of ordering some (in 28mm).I'll let you know and post some images when they ll arrive.

Yes I've seen these before. Not really what I will use but I hope you like them. My figures aren't really 20mm but 22mm to fit with Massimo Costa's figures. Something a little different, French Army of the Levant figures plus others. I think they are some very nice figures. They just had a Kickstarter that was very successful. I'm going to get a few  as  collectibles.  https://www.destrancheesauxbarricades.com/

Proto-types of a Frenchman and a Senegalese. More work to be done.

The almost finished French officer and Senegalese. All opinions are welcome.

Great figs Marc, my only negative comment would be that the officer’s pistol looks a bit small.

I emailed the sculptor about the pistols and their feet. Also I think the back leg seems unnatural, the foot should be more forward.

BTW I don't remember if I mentioned this TV film, Capitaine des Ténèbres (2005) inspired by the disgraceful events of the Voulet-Chanoine mission in 1898.

Not over here I'm afraid. I would have to use sub-titles. Can't speak French.

It doesn't seem available on internet (I found it somewhere but I can't find it again, it appears sometimes but without copyright). You may find some bits or pictures if you research the title.

It's not bad but it's a TV film, there has been historical research but the uniform cloth is too bright I think.

The film French director, Serge Moati, was born in Tunisia, very interested about colonial history (in an interview he said his father was arrested in Tunisia in WW2 for mild Resistance activity but survived because the nazis thought his name was Italian and they didn't understood he was Jewish).
