Options for Mindflayer/Illithid figures?
« on: January 07, 2021, 03:09:38 PM »
Anyone know a good source of decent (and affordable) Mindflayer figures apart from the Reaper Bathalian?
Either proxies or actual sculpts. I need 3 or 4 for a game scenario.

If you don't mind the hands (or convert them), these guys from 4A Miniatures are pretty good:

With the suggested hand swap those are perfect, thanks. Did you grab that image from the 4a website?
I can't get it to open as my browser blocks it as unsafe.

No, those are mine. I was going to add the link, but couldn't get past the front page either. They're listed as "cultists", I think. I think the owner is manic miner on this forum, though, so you could try PMing him.

When I used them in an RPG in 2019, I was using them as some sort of weird sea-worshipping sorcerers. But as soonas I deployed them on the table, the players - as one - said "Mindflayers!". So you might not even need to bother swapping the hands.

Is that a warning from Norton's? Those have been cropping up all over the place. I am beginning to lose faith in Norton' as most seem to be  completely bogus;  one has to fill out a dispute and a few days later Norton's "reviews" the site and gives the "all clear". i.e. there was never any legitimate issue in the first place, just Norton's crap software (or so it seems.)

Midlam Miniatures - Kraken Cultists

Also a great option, thanks

No, I use Opera and it blocks it automatically. Reports as an unsafe site, I think it is something to do with the security settings on the shopping cart site.

If you want to make your own, there is always the Crooked Dice Alien Minion heads.

https://crooked-dice.co.uk/product/alien-minion-heads/

Wargames Factory used to have a similar head in their Stormtroopers set.

Orherworld do one, but he’s pricey. Good as a leader though.

Either proxies or actual sculpts. I need 3 or 4 for a game scenario.

You could go with 2 packs of the Nolzur's line, they're normally around $4.99 for 2 of them.
