Allright, now that´s too far out even for me. But technically speaking, it´s a splendid conversion (?) and paint job. As expected.  ;)

Agreed with Vyper. Far too advanced for WW2 era tech.

I think it's great, and the above comments I find baffling. No one bats an eyelid at the insanity of all the effort and tech required to construct walkers (to what end exactly? Other than looking cool?), but hover? Why, that's just preposterous!

You Weird Warriors crease me up! :)

And this is coming from me that's just completed wolfenstein, (and they've got bloody tyrannids (Insert GW IP police and law suit aimed at ID here) ripping through from the Black Sun demension and everything) and I like me world wars a little wierd.

Hey at least I didn't mention it's not in 28mm...

bugger :D

Thanks guys for the nice comments, each to his own as far as the tech level is concerned. ;)
I have to agree however, that also IMO a hover/ laser tank is more "realistic" then Zombies or Walkers...

(Still can't get past the speeder look sorry).

If I want to stay close to the original DP9 design I have to follow it...

The position of the side mounted engines are this way in the artwork...
see:
That is all I had! My conversion come pretty close IMO!
So no way of changing it.

Hm, I´m sorry to be all mischievous and picky, but that line-art looks like it has some hovercraft skirts going all the way round the hull. Now that I could believe, but yours looks more "anti-grav-ish", and that somehow just doesn´t click (although if it runs on Vril, then why not).

I would have preferred the all-round-skirt variant, more closely to the ground.

Hmm, strange - for me it also looked like a hovercraft skirt, therefore my grey hovercraft skirts to the left and right. And thinking of Bazooka shields on Panthers I decided to give it some extra protection from the sides, therefore the Bazooka shields on top of the grey hover skirts!

For me the pic does not look as if the skirts runs around the tank. But this is all speculation. We only have this ONE pic and my interpretation of it... ;)

Hear hear! ;) :D Lo and behold if you choose to defy the moderator! ;)

Ahhh! I hadn´t interpreted yours as inflated skirts, but rather some torpedo-ish appliances (coupled with the comparably altitude, as anti-gravitic coils, because they did NOT go all the way round). The protective armour skirts outside of the plenum chamber skirts are excellent, then. And you know, that´s why I still prefer the old-style three-quarter images they had in Heavy Gear back in the day - more than just a side elevation.

On another note, I actually like the laser - really something a 3W2-Telefunken would come up with. The "Volkslichtkanone" or something.

No but you targetted me apparenty!!!!

And swearing on the thread does what actually? (Apart from denote your own maturity of course). If you have a problem please feel free to report to the moderator......

Anyway....

The laser barrel is a very nice touch, looking like a focussed beam energy weapon in it's most raw and 'just off the blue print' fashion.

I've been playing wolfenstein to death for the last week and noted that the 'super weapon' featured earlier on in the game was to be tank mounted and looked like a turret mounted bombard, similar to a sturmmorser (sturmtiger assault gun).

Although it looked good you could never believe that the tank mounted version could carry enough power to fire this deathstar weapon.

With the Mantikor this would appear to be possible, however would it be able to fire and hover or would this limit it's use and therefore lethality?

Have you used it in a game yet Agis? How did it fare?
