Good Afternoon all,

Just did some more pics from some miniatures sets from some of my campaigns, mostly run with in-house rules.   Enjoy these.

If you can't see the pics please try a browser other than Chrome.  That seems to work.

And as always, HAVE FUN.

:o The Deathlands figures, 😳 are they custom jobs? I was very into the series but fell out of reading several years ago. I know that the series had been discontinued and I’m trying to locate the books I do not have.... sorry for drifting there. Back on topic. Are those conversions done by you or are/were they available somewhere? Thanks. Also your collection is great 👍
I should be painting right now.

  • All to all, by my mustard!
Where did you get the Thundarr figures?  The whole lot is spectacular!

Great stuff!

So many quirky sculpts from an earlier era of gaming.

I loved the Deathlands series as a young man. It would be fun to go back and reread them to see how well they aged but I hardly have time to finish rereading the Horseclans series I am currently working on. I also seem to recall watching clips of a Deathlands movie or tv show. But I do not recall ever seeing Deathlands figures.

Your take on Burt Gummer the Graboid Slayer is brilliant.

MINIATURES

OK, so for the Deathlands Characters:

Ryan Cawdor, Mildred.... Wargames foundry Street Violence line with some Mods.    Doc Tanner is from one of their old west packs.
Krysty Wroth and JB Dix are Copplestone, with some mods esp. for JB Dix.    Jak was an old Leading Edge Games figure mod, but you can probably find something better.  Maybe a Hasslefree mod?

Strike Team from the 80s is straight-up Wargames Foundry - "The B Team"

Thundarr the Barbarian is a Reaper with some minor mods,   Ookla is a HeroClix Sasquatch with modding,  Ariel is a Hero Forge custom.

The Lazarus Thorne cult are all Hasslefree except for Willie who is a Mad Robot Jovian.

The San Angelo Heroes and RoboGang are mostly Hero Forge customs.   If your're going to go that route, it's expensive.   Also,  HeroForge minis are BIG.   I'd say they're about 32mm or so.    If you want to custom create ones, use the scale function to keep the minis under 5' tall in their scale to match your other minis.   Even then you're going to have to be careful because you don't want to end up with child-like proportions.   Also- their eyebrows are pretty prominent, so un-select eyebrows unless that's what you really want.   I know how to make those blend in with paint, but next time I'm gonna turn those off for the female figures.    If you're modelling Thufir Hawat or Leonid Brezhnev, then go for it.

I dug the Deathlands books as well back in the day, but the movie was pure shite.   Even the road warrior knock-offs from Italy, the Phillipines, or Israel were better than that one because at least they didn't take themselves too seriously.   The Deathlands movie is NOT in my collection, even though I've got (probably) most of the others.

Enjoy!

That's a really interesting and eclectic collection of miniatures- great job on them.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

The Angels are Hasslefree minis as well, with some Polish winged hussar back banners attached and some putty and other conversion work.

Thanks. I thought they had the Hasslefree style to them. Good work on the conversions  :-*

Here are a few more.    Lord Rex, Amber Blaze, and the PA girl from long ago.....Dragon Magazine 108.   Dig out the issue ye fellow nerds....she's there!

Thereafter, you'll find the difinitive Omega Man minis.   I won't list the manufacturer here as I'll be accused of selling.   Capitalism!   Ewwww.......gross!
But if you know who makes it you can post it here if you want.
