Early Byzantines (new pictures added 11 mar)
« on: March 08, 2021, 08:42:49 PM »
The first unit of my Byzantine army. I am planning to do heraclians campaign against the sassanids.
The figures are from Aventine miniatures

Cheers
Steve

Superb work. Are the shields hand-painted?  This is an army I plan to buy very soon so your work and others is quite inspirational.

I really need people to stop posting beautifully painted examples of these figures. I'm finding them hard enough to resist them already.

Fantastic; am I correct in guessing they are based for Impetus?

The shields are from little big man studios with some extra weathering.
They are based on a 120mm x 60mm. So can be used for impetus. I'm hoping to try out sword and spear when I eventually have enough figures, historically I have always played WAB

Sweet!

I'm going to love seeing all these new Byzantine units/armies getting posted.
