For the last few weeks, my 12-year-old has been painting up his Blood Bowl team. He got the last one finished tonight. They're all his own work, and they're all in different colours, which suits them quite well, I think. Here are a few shots; I'll put some more of the bigger ones up when there's better light.

Very nice.

Love the colors.

It's a team he can certainly be proud of.

Those are some very nicely painted miniatures, your son's definitely got a talent for painting!

Wow  :o Those are excellent. Better than most adults manage, so marvellous for a twelve year old. (And so much better than dad's! lol)

He (and you, I'm sure) can be proud of that quality of painting.

Very nicely done, both the parenting and painting :)

Also, Son of Hobgoblin sounds like a series of superhero b-movies: "Son of Hobgoblin 2: Return of the Lizardmen!"  ;D

Gorgeous work! I love the colors, and the leaves especially look amazing. I have been trying to get transitions like that on leaves and falling short.

Thanks very much, everyone - he was delighted with the feedback!

Here's his latest. In our D&D campaign, we've been playing the excellent Lair of the Lamb adventure from the Goblin Punch blog - adjusted for higher-level characters. The PCs' first encounter with the titular Lamb (in our game, the Lamb of Arioch) was in 'theatre of the mind', but my son first drew the creature and then decided to make it and paint it.

So in yesterday's session, we switched to miniatures, and the PCs came face to face with this horror. They fled - but it's bound to catch up with them soon ...

Dang, that's a scary thing to encounter!

From the (Excellent!) drawing, I thought it'd be about man height, but this is a true horror indeed!

How did the sculpting process go? Standard wire frame and then putty? It's quite a wonderful translation of the vision, through the drawing to the miniature...

Nice brushwork too, I must add :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
Find a Way, or make one!
