High Octane battle in pictures: Scavengers vs. Bikers
« on: August 30, 2009, 07:51:25 PM »
FM (Scavengers) and Braxandur (Bikers) played this game several months ago but I was rather late in uploading the pics  ::)

We don't exactly remember how the game went but I hope you enjoy the piccies none-the-less 8)

Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

I saw the beer bottle... where's the M&Ms?  ;)

I think you posted the pics just to get me going on a PA vehicles kick again.  :(

Those are some fantastic vehicles!

How did you do the desert terrain table?
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

Pil, you need some cactus for that table.

And maybe a dead tree with a hangman's noose?

We used to play "Dark Future" quite a bit, and I realised I enjoyed painting the Matchbox cars, more than playing the game  :-)

Nice looking set you guys have.  I enjoyed the "Washing Machine" car, and I see it pays to recycle (Using the recycling truck as a dreadnaught is inspiring!)
So you started a military Coup,
I'm sorry it only back-fired on you.

Pil where did you get the washing machine?  I am wanting to do a laundrymat building and need washing machines and dryers to fill it up! :D

I'll answer that question for Pil (makes sense, it is my force carying the washing machine around after all :))
Anyway, I built the washing machine from some expired bank card type of plastic and some foam, so unless you feel like building them yourself, I can't really help you.

I like the idea of a laundrymat though, might steel it...  >:D

None of the vehicles are mine mind you (except for the wrecks scattered about). The washing machine car was made by FM and I'm pretty sure the washing machine is scratchbuilt from plasticard. You can see his other vehicles here and if you ask kindly he may take some fresh piccies of his fourth car too:

warrenss2> those seem a bit small (1:72), I have some 'forests' of fatty plants though

Mogimbu> yeah, converting the models is a big part of the fun. I've been working on some proper battlecars for some games of Krash in 28mm too 8)

All these posts of High Octane adventures on the white line nightmare, plus the fact that I just watched the movie Death Race, is really pushing me to the point where I got to work on my cars. I've got a fleet of 18 so far, but I want to make wreaks out of them first, using this method... http://www.terragenesis.co.uk/infopages/page423.html & http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxb/plastrex.htm

You might recognize the name of the illustrious author of the second article.  ;)

I want to make enough to pepper the gaming table with them or to use in a partial wreaked car barricade protecting a shanty town from my mutant horde.

Good luck with them! I stopped after 13 and so far that has been enough when combined with my beat-up die-cast wrecks, but for a barricade you'll probably need more 8) Also don't forget to post piccies when they're done ;)

Warrenss2, Thanks for those great links!  What a brilliant, and simple idea!!  Much more economical than hammering, and texture painting all those Hot Wheels!!! :D
