Renders are good, but when are there going to be some more castings/prints to show? A couple of those would be great WWWII characters.

Yeah, that's fair.  I do have some prints that I need to clean up.  Hopefully I'll have time in a couple days.

I would love to hear feedback on the designs too, if anyone has any to offer.  Are they too close to an existing character?  Too over the top?  Just bad in general (and why)?  That sort of thing.

The renders look good, none of the proportions look obviously wrong (although with Superheroes I guess anything goes), there is enough detail to make an interesting painting exercise without obscuring the figure and each of them has a unique character. I like that you have kept the poses relatively static, I think models at extremes of movement and balance look awful on the table.

It is difficult to comment on the merits of the concepts shown as you are working to a customer brief no?

I look at Superhero figures from a "Godlike" or "Achtung Cthulhu" game basis, purely for WWWII so appreciate more understated character ideas (less outlandish costumes or appearance), 1940s era Humans with limited special abilities.
For example I could see Shieldmaiden (with an ornate spear) as a Valkyrie inspired talent or Major Meteor as a Black Sun cult Nazi scientist/technician.
Hardcore or the reworked Zoya would not work at all for me as their modern fashion hairstyles are out of place in a 1930s/40's era setting.
A World War 2 period team based on clothing/style from that era would be great.

This is very good feedback.  Thank you.  I am trying to maintain some verisimilitude in all my figures, no matter how fantastic their genre.  I am also trying not to load the figures up with too much detail.  Interesting but not busy is what I am aiming for.  Sounds like (for you anyway) I am hitting close to my mark.

I really don't like extreme poses or tactical detritus either, so I will avoid it like the plague.  Those are the main reasons that I skipped the Marvel Zombicide and have thus far not purchased any Crisis Protocol miniatures.

Not really, no.  The closest thing that I have to a design brief is the Supersystem character profiles and the old Superfigs line itself.  Most of those were relatively simple designs.  I try to reference back to those when I feel it fits the character.  I do check with Scott to see if he wants any major alterations once I have started a design, but largely I am working from scratch.

I am definitely a comics aficionado, but I am far from an encyclopedic source for the character designs.  I am trying not to come too close to existing designs, but I have obviously not seen every character in every book, so I hope folks will point out if I do get too close.

I love Weird War 2 and will eventually be doing a lot of stuff for that genre.  I have tons of ideas.  I just need to get my skill level and speed up a bit.  There will definitely be other designs from the Four Color Earth that will fit with that time period though.

Thanks very much for taking time to comment.

I love all of them.

I haven’t commented, because like the old joke about the German child, “ until now everything has been satisfactory!”

I love all the design queues you’ve taken from superfigs.

Will these be available to purchase at some future date?

Thanks!  And thank you so much for taking a minute to comment.

I believe Scott wants to put them into production.  I'll let him tell everyone more about that when the time comes.

OK, I assumed Scott's comments meant he was commissioning the new range. More impressive that you are coming up with the designs yourself, as well as doing the digital work.
I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with when you turn your skills to WWWII figures.
I am struggling to even get a halfway decent looking 1942 "Captain America" done on HeroForge. Not my area of skill at all  :?

Oh I forgot that I use the artwork in Scott's various rule sets for inspiration as well.  Just to be fully up front.

This all started as a creative exercise for me really.  I enjoy Scott's rules, I love Supers, and I wanted to practice design and zBrush sculpting.  Superheroes offer anatomy practice, posing practice, and general sculpting practice.  Scott was kind enough to play along and now we are discussing getting the figures into production.

WW2 Cap is one of the figures that I would like to make, so maybe I will start one soon.  If I do, I'll see that you get the stl file so you can get him printed if you like.  No promises on speed though, my life is unpredictable in when I get free time.

Couple updates:

Zoya done.  Test print tomorrow as long as the printer cooperates.

Katyusha Rockets design WIP.

Count Bedlam Done.  Test print tomorrow for him too hopefully.

That's all for now.  Thanks everyone for looking.

Count bedlam has the proper megalomaniac feel in his pose.

Thanks!  He is a quintessential villain from what is written about him in the Slugfest rules, so I tried to bring that across to the sculpt as best I could.

Got some decent prints.  I need to make a few sculpt adjustments on Bedlam to make a better final product.  Some of his details are pushing what I consider acceptable once they print.  Zoya came out really well.  Just need to adjust the supports for her and she is good to go I think.

I'll try to get good pictures of everything I have printed tonight so I can post it here.

As promised (slightly crappy, sorry) photos of test prints:

Everything looks decent.  I'm waiting on airbrush cleaner, and once I have it I will prime these and post new pictures.

Thanks for looking.

They have printed really well. They should be a pleasure to paint.
