any newer 15mm fantasy miniatures ranges?
« on: February 19, 2021, 12:39:39 PM »
I've been looking for sources of 15mm fantasy miniatures, but when I search I just keep finding the same miniatures ranges that have been around since the early 2000s and before. Are there any good ranges of 15mm miniatures that have been created more recently? If I were to make armies using mixtures of miniatures from different companies, which seems to be more common, 15mm or 18-20mm?

Depends how much postage you're welling to pay.

I assume by the 2000s you mean Demonworld? Or possibly Alternative Armies older fantasy ranges? The U.K hasn't really seen much in the 15mm fantasy department.

In the U.S, Khurasan has a growing range of unusual and traditional fantasy minis, his Medieval historic minis are also scaled to fit the fantasy (my biggest gripe is most fantasy minis are 18mm and most historic is 15mm, renders compatibility an issue). There is also Battle Valor Games and Splintered Light.

The former has some very robust miniatures, although I think some of the monsters can be a bit hit n miss but a lot of the rank n file and characters are top notch. Splintered Light are much finer but are so well detailed.

France has Khadrins miniatures which are also very nice but I don't know who has stock of them as the sculptor never seems to have any available.

Have you tried battle valor games?

Seem to be nice sculpts, if a little pricey for my taste.

Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

Copplestone Castings’ Barbarica range is excellent, and available from North Star Figures. Humans are true 15mm, or at any rate at the smaller end of the spectrum. It’s just a pity the range shows no sign of being expanded.

Battle Valor is one of the newest ranges along with Khurasan.  I would call them both 18mm.

Battle Valor, Khurasan, and Eureka's fantasy lines would all blend well together.  They are all big, but all are excellent models.

Splintered Light, Demonworld, Black Raven and Essex all blend well with each other.  These are more true 15mm

Of course there is the option of printing minis to suit as more and more are becoming available online.

What style of fantasy's are you looking for?

Hope this helps

Although not as easily acquirable as a webstore, Time of Legends: Joan of Arc by Mythic Games has had 2 kickstarters and they come with tons of 15mm fantasy

I recall a few posts around here with beautifully painted figures from the first kickstarter.
