The town with no name - a WIP Old West project
« on: March 01, 2021, 01:06:49 PM »
My Old West town that started in lockdown in March 2020 creeps along at a glacial page. The joineries of the town are struggling to keep up with the demand for doors and windows, so that it the main focus before it expands any further.

Despite the ongoing work it's been the location for a number of back-alley liaisons and the occasional gunfight.

If you'd like to see a little more about the construction and approach to painting the exterior surfaces, please drop by my blog: https://senlachill.blogspot.com/2020/10/scratch-building-old-west-buildings-in.html

Please see the attachments for some images - I've given up trying to embed images on LAF  o_o lol

Thanks for dropping by

Creeps along? That is a ferocious amount of work and it looks incredible. It's easy to see that you are going to get a lot of good gaming out of that setup can't wait to see the live action shots.

Awesome work!  If you don't mind my asking - where did you get the mini of the hot asian babe?

Buildings as good as that show how basic the numerous MDF offerings are in comparison.

Thank you one and all! I appreciate the encouragement. It's so easy to get bogged down in these projects.

I have a report of a recent game (which will feature some unexpected protagonists  :o) which I will load to this thread this week.

Warren, you are right. It's a lot of progress - I just am finding the finishing stage very slow - a familiar situation for many wargaming projects haha.

Harry -  ;) - I think there is some great work out there with modding the MDF kits - but thank you - I really like the character that the weathered timbers provide. Close-ups show me I needed to be a little more careful with glue, but I will probably add moss and more grime at some stage so that will blend it in more.

Awesome work!  If you don't mind my asking - where did you get the mini of the hot asian babe?

The mini you mention is from the wonderful Pax Limpopo range by Eureka Miniatures - she is the Chinese accomplice girl with bob hair cut https://www.eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_126_153_157&products_id=1889 and there is a Chinese accomplice girl with pig tail https://www.eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_126_153_157&products_id=1890.

It's well worth a trawl through this range as there are some great characters for the Old West. The full Pax Limpopo Range can be found here: https://www.eurekamin.com.au/index.php?cPath=87_126_153 I have attached some more (rather whimsical) pictures of my favourites. In the hands of a good painter these minis would be fantastic.

Personally, I think Lockdown would make a great name for the town.
