What a tanker...
« on: March 04, 2021, 11:21:51 PM »
Last week we ran a quick game of what a tanker by Ian’s favourite rule writers TFL.
The game was put on by Jamie, and used all his kit for the first time, and we played via Zoom.
Scenario was 2 Sherman’s v 2 Pz4’s, in a Normandy village.

The Germans moved first and took up firing positions on the edge of the village.
Here you can see the Pz4 lining up Sherman after Sherman down the road.

This meant the first Sherman had a very short life.

Here we see that first Sherman go up, as the German Pz4 tag team go into action, with an out flanking move.

So one Sherman down, and one to go.

Now it turned into an episode of “catch the pigeon” as the two Pz4’s chased the one surviving Sherman around the housing estate.

Catch me, catch me.

And finally he was caught.

Good fun game, taking a couple of hours to play. All playing in the right spirit.

Thanks to Jamie for supplying everything, and for putting the game on.

Good show! Lovely vehicles and groundwork.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Superb looking game.  We've been playing with 6-7 players  via Zoom weekly throughout lockdown, and WAT is one of our "go-to" games.  We've gamed WW2 in 15 and 20mm and Arab-Israeli in 15mm, the latter using data located on the Lard Forum.

'It was a great  fun game', said Herr Has.been as he painted two kill rings on his Pz IV's barrel.
Thanks to Jamie for doing all of the preparation, and patiently running around & around his table to give us a 'Tanker's eye view' whenever we asked.
