In years past, I had been scratchbuilding models for Napoleonic gaming so that I could do a scrunched 'wargaming scale' with reduced footprints for buildings but with sufficient height that passing troops didn't tower over them.
With the availability of STL files now and the ease of adjusting the printing scale independently on each of the 3 axes, I'll be going the printing route. For now, a friend is printing these and I expect to get my own printer within a year or so.
First up is a batch of little bridges inspired by those seen in the DBN gaming videos on YouTube.
He printed one batch that went AWOL on the delivery attempt. Then printed another batch, which was the juju to make sure the first batch would re-appear. So now I am quite wealthy in little bridges!
Started with this STL file, and shrunk the length to fit over the DBx rivers that I have, sized the width so that a limber could cross it if it broke free from it's base, and adjusted the height to look right. For the larger bridges, that was scaled down to 25% X, 45% Y, and 30% Z. Not sure of the scaling on the smaller one.
