Hoorah for Release 4!  Every one a winner.  I fully endorse the themed naming convention idea  :D.

I have exactly the same feeling about Monteros.  They just look anachronistic to me.  I know there is lot of evidence for them. e.g.  apparently one of Rupert’s favoured pieces of head gear (was he wearing one at Naseby when he rode up to the Parliament train guard and told them to surrender?).

I tend to drop the Montero wearers or head swap them given half a chance. This is just a personal choice so realise some will love them.  Well done, Richard, for including one despite your personal feelings!

I have owned a repro one back in re-enactment days.  Quite nice on a very cold evening.  Not terribly comfy the rest of the time though.  Lots of people loved them though. I think the bonnet was my favourite head gear.

Looks like Release 4 will be a lovely set. Well done. I'd say the releases are getting better and better.

We'll never know this, but it would be interesting to know the extent to which Bloody Miniatures has increased sales of the Bicorne range. You should have negotiated a commission from them.

Thanks all :)

Glad we agree lol  Such silly hats, historically correct or otherwise ;)

Thanks Paul. I have wondered the same thing myself :)

Despite the clear manifesto for Bloody Miniatures on the website, I still get people constantly asking, 'Are you going to do rank and file pikes, muskets, cavalry, command, artillery' etc.
To which I always reply, 'No, that's not the point of the exercise at all - but do go and buy what you need from Bicorne, which is a huge range that matches almost exactly in size, stature and style, being from the same scultptor'.
There's no earthly point me just replicating what's already out there in a dozen other 28mm ECW / TYW ranges. But people still keep asking  lol

So yes, I've sent a few dozen enquirers the way of Bicorne, so hopefully they're doing well out of all those referrals :D

I've been in a massive painting slump the last twelve months or so, to the point where my full set of Release 1 Bloody Miniatures are still not finished and I've avoided buying Releases 2 and 3, but Release 4 is just too good. Going to need to kick myself along to finish Release 1's figures to clear the decks for Release 4's loveliness!

I think this release is the best so far, or at least the most the most wide ranging.  My favourites are the Dragoons, followed closely by the ladies.  First class.  :-* :-* :-* :-*

My lot of Release 1 figures (the full sixteen Company of Wolves set) finally done barring some cleanup and basing tufts, at long last!

(seriously, I ordered these back when they were freshly released, March 2021 and they have been taking up space on my painting desk far, far too long...)

I'll get some more photos and say some nice things about them on the blog sometime in the next couple of days.

Brill  :)

Some suitable buildings would go well with them wouldn’t they  ;)

And here they are! I'm surprised no one has mentioned them yet? I can see these going very well with the Bloody Miniatures figures.

There's a thread on them here:

They look great! Nice work, thanks for sharing  :)

Indeed - a perfect match. (I tried to persuade him to brand them 'Bloody Buildings', but he just wasn't having it  lol)

We shall, however, endeavour to come to some agreement on a joint promo :)
