I remember that the Minifigs catalogue had a pic of a large ECW cannon, I seem to think it dwarfed the 25mm crew figures. Probably a culverin? Now, my Bloody collection is recapturing the nostalgia of that range - so are there any suggestions for such a monster artillery piece that would fit with Bloody figures repurposed as crew?

I've got a selection of ECW/TYW guns from cannons and culverins through demi-culverins and sakers down to falconets and frame guns. Nearly all mine are from Bicorne I think (I got them a long time ago lol) although a couple may be from TAG. They all fit well enough with Bloody Miniatures.

The biggest of these is the cannon: https://www.bicorne.net/acatalog/BIC-ECWG001---Cannon-768.html#SID=31

Here it is with a stand-in Bloody crew for scale... (yes, he's reading the instructions). Doesn't exactly tower over them, but certainly comes to around chest height...

I'm never going to produce guns for Bloody Miniatures because there are hundreds of perfectly good ones on the market in this scale, and they're all pretty interchangeable.

I will however, in the fullness of time, produce a pack of open-handed Bloody characters suitable for artillerists, engineers, diggers, builders, whatever. They'll come with a sprue of artillery implements (ramrod, linstock, powder ladle) plus tools like spades and crowbars.

I'm not sure those two should be puffing on their pipes so close to gunpowder!
Great painting as usual.

Love how they are smoking claypipes around the powder keg.  :)

They don't appear to have a linstock. Perhaps they're just improvising.  ;D

Lovely gun and crew.  Always room for more interesting crew etc.  :D

I also resort to Bicorne when I want a nice ‘big’ artillery piece. Theirs are certainly nice and chunky. I also like Barry’s from Warfare. Probably meant to be for a slightly later period but I like the look of them.

Just to confirm what everyone else has said, I ordered 10 packs late Friday night, E-mail Saturday morning to say they had left, arrived in Mondays post.
Bloody excellent service from Bloody Miniatures. Thanks Richard and the sculpting is excellent, the faces are especially wonderful.
Cheers
John

The Gun Powder plotters, when cornered tried to dry their damp gun powder over an open fire.
They got the predictable result. :o
