Crashed Spaceship Model
« on: March 23, 2021, 07:48:36 PM »
I am looking for a crash landed alien spaceship model more in the style of HG Wells War of the Worlds alien cylinder type ships, ideally in 28mm though 15mm might work.

I am UK based and am struggling to find anything this side of the pond.

Why buy a model for a WotW cylinder?  They're as basic as it gets.  Take a length of PVC pipe, cut it off at an angle, stick it in the center of a crater base, make a hatch/lid out of some scrap plastic, detail to taste, done.  DIY will also let you get the size to fit your idea of how big one of those things is supposed to better than any manufactured kit would - ie so they fit whatever their payload is, and things like tripods vary enormously in size.

I agree with the Chief.
If your skills don't allow for scratch building, I feel sure
there are enough members of LAF who, for a price, would
make one for you.
Put it out there, with a note to your price limit & see who bites.

What about using a Pringles tube? Relatively inexpensive way of modelling.

This might fit the bill from Blotz.  Might take a bit of tinkering to get what you want.

Hmm, hadn't considered drop pod kind of models.  If that's what the OP is after, Alternative Armies has a variety of them in 15mm, ranging form single-man to five-man designs in the HOF range and some 15mm terrain (like teh crashed Skylark or drop-hardpoint) that might do in 15mm Ion Age.
