That’s bad advice. I fear a trip to A&E with burnt paws and plastic stuck to them.
How do you think he got the monica for his name. Constant hand injuries at reenactment. I was there.

Hmmm maybe should have tried that before I glued them on! 😩

OK, plan two.
Hold the fronds over a candle & bend.

OK I should have been clearer.
1) The candle should be lit.
2) It is the tree that needs to bend, not you!  lol lol lol

I will strip the willows (morris men beware!) and try the hot water…but that can wait for now.  Just need to paint a couple more minis and we will be trying out the first encounter.

Just popped together the rest of the oaks

Setting for the game.

My aim is to have multiple players trying to defeat the wolves (and associates 😉).  I’m mixing Horse and Musket with the FFoL Horror book and altering the wolves in particular to make them formidable.   The “hunter” teams, each will have to have someone with a silver this or that and a little bit of lore I think.   One team will have a priest, one a doctor etc.  playing with traits, it’s pretty easy to represent actual people in my regiment and even have one or two minis that are a fair likeness too!  Looking forward to seeing how the different teams fair….pike ( mainly with halberds) with their armour  I’m expecting to do better than the musket.   Cavalry, with armour but a mix of sword and carbine….maybe a tad better too…..will be interesting to find out.

Will (my lad) and I are going to try a couple of teams against the wolves to see how long they last!  Already painted are the first team of dismounted cavalry.  On the paint bench…Scots, dragoons, pikemen and the second mounted cavalry.  Ideally I could do with a few cavalry horse holders….here’s hoping!

Also to do, a unit or two of Royalist *spit* scum to do the doggies bidding!

Anyway, back to the present.

First up will be a couple of lots of Musketeers…..

I must have missed it (a common failing these days) but what is the brand for the silver birches?
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

And here they are, Dog Rough Soldiers!

Note: change of title….this will all be about the game now and Witches are NOT the primary adversary! 😉

The first two teams.  I decided the Bicorne Musketeers I did before didn’t have enough character, unlike the great Bloody Minis….plus I needed a doctor for one team ( based on a friend of ours, who dressed just like this at my Bidford event last year) and a Goodwife for the other team.

I love these minis!

Can I suggest planchet based on Roy kennear for next team. Figures look really nice.

Have you looked at “clubmen” figures. Basically thieves robbers and deserters that fought for themselves.

To be fair I’m refining the teams…..four of six participants will be based on Manc’s….two shot, one pike (with preacher) and a command group…..the other two being Cavalry.  I just based and put first paint to the command group….basically senior officer (based loosely on yours truly 😉), ensign, drummer and two shot.

The Dragoons and Scots may now find their way to be henchmen of the Lycans.   There may be a place for clubmen as rabble…cheap choice troops they can turn to.

It is rather fetching……at least, we think so! 😉

Plenty more pic and reference material here.   Take a look at the “ Join Us” section as there are close ups of the kit in detail there.
