15mm Stargrunt 2 Traveller Project
« on: April 04, 2021, 07:31:36 PM »
Hi everyone! I'm starting a new project in parallel with my 28mm Sengoku Jidai Ronin project that will hopefully culminate in a Traveller Sword World campaign using the seemingly highly recommended Stargrunt 2 rules. Thus far I have the armor for 2 planetary factions done, plus an infantry platoon done for one of those sides, and I am working on a heavily reinforced platoon for their opposition. The plan is to expand those 2 sides out a bit and then start working on some Zhodani and Imperial minis to serve as advisory troops deployed to the planet that will eventually lead to the 2 sides coming to blows. In-game forum regular Metternich and I will likely represent these substantially higher-tech troops (the Imperials and Zhodanis) as being functionally in power armor or something of the sort. I should have enough of a playset ready to get some games in with the 2 basic local planetary factions within the next week or so, as I finish up the infantry for the one side. Thus far, due to the decals I had lying around, the 2 sides have taken on a distinctively "neo-bundeswehr" and "neo-soviet" flavor, which I'm pretty happy with. Let me know what you think, and if anyone has tried using Stargrunt rules for Traveller, or gaming in Stargrunt with dramatically disparate tech-level troops!

Am really looking forward to playing this with Charlemagne; a wonderfully painted group of figures.  Have been a Traveller fan since the 1980's.  Am also amazed at how quickly Charlemagne can turn out a quality 15mm paint-job that looks "realistic" for futuristic warfare.

That's looking very nice.  I see Brigade just put up some teasers for some new 15mm vehicles that are in the pipeline, so even more options to choose from soon.  Plus GZG is supposed to have some resculpts coming as well.

Excellent camo schemes, really like the Neo Sov infantry as well, very crisp and the colours work well together!

Also, those paddy fields are slick!  :-*

I'm credited  on page 1 .

With forces of different tech levels , what works really well is :

Higher tech less boots on the ground - smaller squads and platoons
Lower tech more boots on the ground - larger squads and platoons

Agreed on all counts.  Kind of my dream combo for a project.

Just finished up some new stuff for both sides and thought I'd share it! I'm still working on some additional shots of the light mechs with terrain, and I'm finishing some Unmanned Ground Vehicles for the Neu Swabians, but I thought I'd drop some pictures here since it's been a while (hopefully that's okay, it's warning me that it's been over 120 days haha)!
