I might give this a shot and enter my first LAF contest despite voting on all of the previous ones, just have to think of an idea to get on the registration thread before April 24th.

I already opened a thread, but I thought I'd report in here as well, just to be sure.

If this will be half as much fun as last year, we'll be in for another treat again! :)

I'm really excited about the new competition and the topic, but could the rule "- painting in progress is not allowed, only primed entries are permissible on the build threads -" be ignored this time? Building difficult terrain with a lot of broken pieces would be much easier if parts are allowed to  be painted in advance.

I think there is a paragraph covering this. If a part needs to be painted before assembly that is OK. Just make sure that you save the WOW! pictures till last. I won't change the wording to cover this.

Of course by "not to be a rules lawyer" I mean I totally want to be a rules lawyer! And if you change the rule about number of bases can we also have a redue of last year :D

No it is not, per analogy with the LPL. Didn’t think of that.

I have no way to police it (and really dont care to) but I ask every one not to until the competition is over.

Well, you know, the reason I set the *official* start of the competition to today is so I had some time to tweak the rules. From now on my fickle despotism shall guide me when I ignore them.

One thing, and more of a clarification:

I seem to recall that in previous iterations, "general scenic material" e.g. static grass (loose/tufts), sand, gravel, scatterflock etc. was not included in or explicitly excluded from the 25% purchased items limit, that limitation being intended for actual models, right?

That's still the case this time, I assume?

Absolutely. The 25% rule concerns nore complex elements.

Glad to see that the competition is going to happen. I'll definitely be participating again. I have some time to ponder what I'd like to build but I'll be sure to create a thread soon so as not to forget. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with again this time around.

As you can see most people create a thread without having determined the content for sort of pour le encourage les autres
