Safety flip flops obviously.

Sounds like a good idea for your BSC entry. Will this be for your 20mm stuff?

I always look forward to one of your builds, and I like the modular bases...was thinking of just making one piece (mainly to give me a chance of finishing it) but now I’m going to think again  :D

My brother says I need to add to my thread
Not very much to show
trying to cast some brick molds from very old Linka set

Thank god it is rubble I am after
I am breaking more than getting full casts

My pile of Rubble gets bigger :D

It always fascinating to see how everyone is tackling the BSC, so many different approaches  8)

Good start Colin! 8) Those plaster moulds will give you some good rubble!

Progress is slow but still going

My rubble pile gets bigger

I am thinking one of the ruins is going to be a stone church or church hall as half of my molds are for stonework

I am also experiminting with some entrenchments in the rubble, my 7 man section for CoC takes up a lot of room!
Once I get the main structures up I will need to add wooden floors and extra doors and windows scattered about and maybe some furniture. and then some green stuff work

Love the attention you’ve paid to the windows...it’s amazing though how much rubble you need.

Taking notes as I think I’ll need something similar at some point

Awesome! I used to have a huge Linka set when I was a kid too; the box must have been about 100cm wide, 20cm high and 30cm deep, and was filled to the brim with moulds, plans and bags of plaster.

I got it for my birthday (if I recall that correctly), as I was very ambitious in my plans for a model railway at the time.

Regretfully though, space was at an absolute premium back at my parents' house, so that awesome layout was never realized, and that huge Linka box sat under my bed for many, many years. I did some casting of pieces, but being impatient as I was back then, it took too long, and I needed too many casts to make even a small building, and I got bored with it.

Eventually I got rid of it, but I don't remember how. Probably sold it at a flea market or something like that.

And seeing something very akin to it being used now curses my past self for selling it off!

It's the perfect tool for creating large built up areas for sure. Are you using the original plaster, or something a bit more sturdy? because I found that the original plaster was just very weak.

I'm contemplating making plaster moulds for some of the components for my build too btw, (using dental plaster) but I am planning on using pigments and inks to pre-colour the plaster. That way, I can break pieces off, and it won't show any glaring white areas all of a sudden. maybe worth a try?

Your entry will obviously be looking excellent with all that rubble, and so far, it's the best iteration of difficult terrain in the competition I've seen...

+++EDIT+++ Found a picture of that box...

Thank you
I remember as a kid my friends dad building a model rail layout using this stuff it looked amazing but he wasn't too happy with me because I wanted to use it for my model soldiers. >:D
I got the sets I have from somebody on here and my first trys with the original plaster were hopless so I gave up using it I think the plaster was too old. I am now using precision plaster by a company called Glebe works ok but you always get breakages which is useful for this project away :D
I aways take these competitions as a chance to build something I can use in my games, it may not be as sexy as some but I bet I will get more use out of it
Looking at you brother ;)

Looking great, man!

I only use high quality dental plaster for my casts. Other qualities is just to dusty and fragile.
