Sith troopers
« on: April 06, 2021, 07:32:10 PM »
Hello folks,

Am looking for stand-ins or something that can be converted into the Kotor style Sith troopers. I've had a look around but can't find anything at the moment. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

The Concord from Beyond The Gates Of Antares could work, such as the Strike Squad plastics, they look to have the right kind of lightish armour and helmets with blank curved faceplates.

The official versions from Wizards are of course long OOP and going for rather a lot on eBay when they do appear, and it looks like there were only four of them anyway.

Thanks they do look good, although the guns are not really to my taste and sadly they're moulded to the hands.

The shoulder 'mantles' are a bit too chunky, but maybe they can be taken off with a sharp hobby knife.

Antares figures with arm/weapon swaps from Anvil Industry might be an option?

If 3D printing is an option, studiodr has files for various characters including "Ancient Dark Troopers" with blasters and melee weapons.

The "mantle" can be trimmed narrower, and the top can also be filed down too. That said, I don't think you'd be gaining much from the work, and there is detail moulded on the top/back which would be nice to preserve I think.

The guns can have the front and top trimmed off, and a new gun spliced in quite easily.

Overall, I think the Antares C3 are probably a good shout (and very cost effective relative to other options too), needing only a little trimming/filing - the right paintjob will sell them as Sith Troopers quite well.
They're not quite "out of the box", true, but I don't think many options will be unfortunately.

For Republic forces (if you need any), the upcoming new Trooper plastic kits for for Stargrave look like a good starting point (link).

We sell EC3D's Novus Landing which has the Alliance Patrol that may be a good shout:

If you need more than three and don't want duplicates, we can mirror (flip them) so that they're facing in the opposite direction.

Thanks, this is all really helpful.

These heads from Anvil might be ideal:

Those were the figures that came to mind for me as well.
