Overlords from Krakon Games
« on: April 06, 2021, 07:31:48 PM »
I've been working on the Overlords range on and off for 4 or so years now. They started out as a tribute to the old Rogue Trader enslavers, but then quickly became an amalgamation of tribute sculpts to various other floating sci-fi creatures.

Now I've finally taken some time to revisit them with paint jobs and new parts, with much more to follow this year.

Here's some of the more interesting pieces:

Those are quite nice.  You've managed to pull off something akin to the old 2nd edition 40K Tyranid red-and-blue scheme without it looking as garish as the GW efforts, which is quite a feat.

The vespid gives me a strong "Large Sadistic Demon" vibe from Asgard.  Alternative Armies makes them now, and they apparently finally found the molds for the wings after years of selling them without.

I have a massive supply of Macgragge blue from all those cheap magazine issues so I had to make use of it somewhere!

2nd ed Tyranids are totally my thing. I am working on my own kit of warriors, from which a few of the Overlords builds are using body parts.

Ah, the classic Tyranid Warrior look, that's the ticket.  Still got a few bits and pieces left over from Advanced Space Crusade myself.  The newer models have more pre-made build options but they just lack the intimidation factor of the originals.
