I agree with former user, two part barrel etcetera,it look's a bit clunky, with this thought of thing the bits box helps.I'll even buy a kit just for the bits, and with ebay it can be easily done. I am rambling, could I suggest you get a turned barrel? That would make a difference, may even some bits off a 1/48 20cm flak gun.......I'll go back into my den now, growling.

I'm sure that Greywolf, and former user are both trying to make positive suggestions, but guys, you might want to read Marco's comment again...

 ;)

I'm completely aware that this is'nt a model of a submarine, but a free, very free, representation of a typical German submarine.
This is my goal: to field (in the sea? :D) something that will make players and people attending say "Have a look! There is an U-Boot!!". Nothing else. And I think I fulfilled this goal.

I'd say that this model does that job in spades!

 :)

I've taken the same approach with my Destroyer - it was based loosely upon a Royal Navy Admiralty S Class, but isn't meant to be an accurate model, with every little rivet in the correct place - i've condensed it down, and messed around the armament a little.  If at a game, someone says - "oh look a destroyer", then i'd be happy...if they stand there, and start pointing out inaccuracies, then i'd be liable to tell them to Foxtrot Romeo Oscar..... ::)

At the end of the day, I want a wargames model that (like Marco) I can play a GAME with....

Well put. Perhaps those who suggest other ways of building triple-ayes and subs can show us picture examples of those models? :)

Gentlemen,

no escalation, please. :)

I'll be more than happy to have alook at your Nautilus.
So I'll have an excuse to build one for me! ;)

Tutorial:
Well, I upload my piccies on Photobucket.
Then I put the mouse pointer on a pic, and will appear a small scroll down with four "links".
I highlight the lower one, copy, and then paste in the post.
That's all.

Instead, could please anybody explain as it is possible to modify the title of a post?

Marco

Sign up to a free photo hosting site like this

http://photobucket.com/

then upload pictures to the site...there will be an ability to copy the image as a jpg, url etc once uploaded which you then paste into your message.

On the buttons above the text field there is what looks like a tiny landscape picture.

Click that once

give it a try  :D

well, I have some old pictures of conversions which are rather bad
I could post them, but I would prefer to take new ones

and it seems I have to make a photobucket account

OK - just be patient
