Waterloo video 'How to' for March of Eagles
« on: 08 April 2021, 11:42:46 PM »
We're doing something for Napoleonic gamers soon and I thought a little trip around the free rule set I wrote for Victrix a few years back was a nice segway into that.

If you've got 5 minutes, grab a cuppa and a biccie and have a butchers...

There are some Big Battalions in there..

Thanks. PART 2 is all about the actual game play itself.

Thank you so much for doing this, i love the combo of bigger figure with the 'modest' table - most excellent, eager for part 2.

P.S. i have just downloaded the PDF of the rules at the Victrix site - thank you Barry and Victrix.

That's a lovely looking table

an internet search on 'March of eagles victrix' takes you to a download page for the free rules, which oddly, I can't seem to reach from the victrix website. Anyway, scroll down and there is a revised version there. Thanks.

I note the infantry and artillery rules are there, but not the cavalry. Did they ever get produced? I have e-mailed Victrix to check on availability.

I did produce the cavalry rules and sent them to Victrix. If you can't get them I can send. Just mail me on wordtwister@hotmail.co.uk
cheers

Barry,

Any chance you'll do something similar for smallish games of Republic to Empire?  They are wonderful and beaurifully produced (like all of your sets) rules and brought me back into playing Napoleonics in 28mm.

Thanks!

Short answer is of course YES, Custosarmorum. I had originally intended the first Napoleonic video to be Republic to Empire focused but in the end, having read through March of Eagles again I just wanted a game with it! Videos take about a week to put together by I have plans to do:

Republic to Empire
Four Empires (Crimean) an as yet finished ut unpublished book
Rally to the Colors! (The ACW version of Republic to Empire)
