Here's a link to photos and a brief report of the game I ran at the Other Partizan today.

Also bought Triumph and Tragedy, so looking forward to trying that later this week!

Champion! Gorgeous scenery, and great figures. I won't ever be able to put on a game that looks as snazzy as that, but it certainly will inspire me to continue with my own Ethiopia project.

Love the little vignettes. Are they just for fun or some kind of status markers?

Great looking game, I saw it today.  Who won by the way?  Those Italians had a good looking position!

Thanks for all the very flattering comments.  I just hope I inspired someone else to game this crazy period!  :)

In response to a few of those questions...

Some of the vignettes are status markers - round bases with a casualty are Pinned markers, ammo boxes indicate Low On Ammo, shell cases indicate Weapon Jammed.  Others are pure scene-setting frivolity, like the hyenas.  (Having done a few demo games over the years, I've discovered that vignettes are well worth the time spent in entertaining conversation value.  And I love making them).

The Italians narrowly won the first game (Bitwoded Makonnen was gunned down after single-handedly taking a machine gun post) and lost the second (overrun by warriors after too much awful shooting and jammed guns).

Yes, I was the chap in the green t shirt and glasses.

More pics - I only took a few on the day, there wasn't a chance to take 'turn by turn' shots as the primary purpose of being there was to demonstrate playing the game and chat to interested folk.  Also the lighting in Kelham Hall was pretty poor.  However, I've got a pair of linked articles about the war going into Wargames Illustrated (probably in Oct and Nov editions, TBC) - we did a photo shoot two weeks ago with super lighting and a much better camera, so I'm expecting those to turn out much better!  Also there are two scenarios (one accompanying each article) - Danny took turn-by-turn photos of those, so hopefully some of that will make it into the final magazine.

Cheers

James
